Welcome to Livia ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our AI companion service.

4. Face Data (AR Selfie Feature)

Livia includes an optional "AR Selfie" feature that lets your companion character appear next to you in the camera view and react to your facial expressions. When, and only when, you open this feature, the app uses Apple's ARKit face-tracking technology (the TrueDepth camera on supported devices) to detect the position of your face and a set of facial-expression signals (for example, whether you are smiling, laughing, or surprised).

How this data is used: This information is used solely, and in real time, to (a) position the animated Livia character beside your head on screen, (b) let the character mirror your current expression, and (c) show an on-screen indicator of the detected expression. It is used for no other purpose.

On-device only. All face-tracking data is processed entirely on your device, in memory, in real time. We do not record, store, save, transmit, log, or retain any face geometry, depth map, facial-expression data, or face template on our servers or anywhere else. This data is discarded frame by frame as you use the feature and never leaves your device.

No sharing with third parties. Because this face data never leaves your device, it is never sold, shared with, or disclosed to any third party, and it is not used for advertising, analytics, identification, or building any facial profile.

Photos you choose to save. If you tap the shutter in the AR Selfie feature, the app creates a standard photo of what is shown on screen (an ordinary image — not a depth map or face model). That photo stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to save it to your photo library or send it to your Livia companion; the underlying face-tracking data is never included in it.
